Mike Rings’ multi-tracked vocals unfurl alien melismas over a thick and broken clutter of guitars, synths, and unexpected percussion (water-cooler bottle, crumpled paper, boxes and bags of broken glass and crockery). This mad scrabble of sound is wrapped around a trio of songs about leaving one place, arriving another, and finding yourself already there—in a house built of sound at the edge of a wood where death hovers on salty wings.
