Camille Rose Garcia's career is drawing serious attention and there is a good reason why. By deftly mixing her personal edgy iconography and language. Garcia explores themes of invasion and replication on the psychological, physical, environmental, and cultural levels. Her narrative style in "Biowar Evasion Unit: Model B" is reminiscent of a 40's fractured fairytale yet her's is a modern nightmare. Camille Rose Garcia had 3 shows in Los Angeles in March, April & May, 2000. She is represented by Mary Karnowsky Gallery. In January 2000, we invited Camille into the studio to explore the print medium. The resulting work "Biowar Evasion Unit: Model B" is her first serigraph edition. Screened in 5 colors, she then added black glitter to the eyes and washes of coffee to give it more of a painterly hand. The edition size is 30 on 100% archival rag paper with a hand torn deckled edge, signed & numbered with certification. Click on the images to the right for an enlarged view ---> |
